Ever since becoming lactose-intolerant I have wanted pudding. I found European Gourmet Bakery Organics Vanilla and Chocolate pudding at Meijer and decided to try it. The chocolate pudding only contains organic sugar, organic cornstarch, organic cocoa powder, and sea salt. The vanilla version contains organic sugar, organic cornstarch, and organic vanilla flavor. I used Friendly Farms 2% Lactose-Free milk to make this. It turned out very good! I cured my craving for pudding and I will buy it again. My husband and two of my three boys liked it. The one that didn’t like it, just didn’t like it because I didn’t cover it while it was cooling, so it had skin formation on the top. It retails for $2.19 at Meijer (as of January 2017)
Friendly Farms 2% Lactose-Free milk if very good. I prefer it over Lactaid brand. It is not as sweet as Lactaid or as thick. It can be found at Aldi’s for $2.79 (as of January 2017).
Even though butter doesn’t have a large amount of lactose, I wanted to try Blue Bonnet Lactose Free margarine out when I made my broccoli cheddar soup. It didn’t look very appealing when I opened the package, but it worked very well for sauteing my onions and blooming the flour for the soup. I would buy this again. It retails for $0.99 (as of January 2017)
